(August 9, 2019, Jackson, Miss.) St. Dominic Hospital is one of only 225 hospitals nationwide to receive the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain-MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2019.
The award recognizes St. Dominic’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients. “I would like to thank all our cardiac care providers for their hard work and collaboration in order to achieve this elite award,” said Christy McGregor, Director of Cardiovascular Programs at St. Dominic’s. “It speaks volume about our multi -disciplinary commitment in providing exceptional cardiac care for our patients. The cardiovascular landscape in the state of Mississippi has improved because of our efforts at St. Dominic’s. I hope this award encourages our team and affirms that their work and dedication make a difference in our patients’ lives.”

Full participation in the registry engages hospitals in a robust quality improvement process using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to heart attack patients.
“By meeting the award requirements set forth in the registry, St. Dominic’s has demonstrated a commitment to providing reliable, comprehensive treatment for heart attack patients based on current clinical guideline recommendations,” said Michael C. Kontos, MD, FACC, chair of the NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Steering Committee, Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
